I grew up in Murray, Utah, attending Viewmont Elementary, Riverview Junior High, and
Murray High School, and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife
Management from Utah State University. Over the years, I worked in automotive repair,
construction, facilities management, and as a Wildlife Bio-Technician with the USDA
Forest Service. Through every season of life, the Lord was preparing my path.
As I began my walk with Jesus Christ, my eyes were opened to see the world differently.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it” (Psalm 24:1). What once was scenery
became testimony. Today, I am a Christian, and my faith guides my life and my work. I
am thankful for my wife, Candy—my better half—who walks alongside me and shares in
this calling, often joining me as I photograph.
Through studying Scripture, I was drawn to the teaching that we are to faithfully use the
gifts God has entrusted to us. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received
to serve others” (1 Peter 4:10). I believe photography is one of those gifts. When I lift my
camera, my desire is not to glorify myself, but to reflect the Creator.
In every mountain, forest, and moment of stillness, I see the hand of God. I believe His
presence is not only found in the natural world, but also in the work of human hands, for
“from Him and through Him and to Him are all things” (Romans 11:36). My hope is that
through these photographs, others may see His beauty, feel His peace, and be
reminded of His glory revealed all around us.
